I don't get too much salt. I do seem to urinate more than seems normal but the doc has tested me for diabetes and other things and didn't find anything and dismisses this symptom. Could I be getting too much or too little of something else that would effect dehydration. I have very chapped lips, dryish skin, and sometimes get headaches. I don't drink coffee but do sometimes drink tea or iced tea. I drink some soda but have cut it mostly out. I have been drinking a lot of gatorade lately. Any ideas?
I live in a warmer area and don't turn on the heat much so I doubt that has anything to do with it but thanks for other tips.

Answer
Drinking the Gatorade or a similar drink is a wise thing to do, it will replace electrolytes that may be missing in your system. I buy it in bulk powder form which brings a serving size down to pennies.

Please start a journal, keeping track of what you eat and drink. Make notes on the temperature and what your physical activities were. Do this for a least 2 weeks to see if there is a pattern of behavior that might cause these symptoms. I know this is an inconvenience, but it helps in the diagnosis.

It is now winter, did these symptoms start with the advent of using your furnace? If so, it would be wise to get a carbon monoxide detector installed. These are inexpensive, but can save your life.

I trust this will give your a place to start.
