My mom turned the heat on tonight for about 5 or 10 minutes. As soon as i noticed i was getting dizzy i checked my vent and closed it. I am now sitting outside worrying myself to death because I over think everything. I am a little queezy and dizzy but no headaches. I was in the shower when i started to feel the dizziness become worse. I immediately got out of the shower and stuck my head out the window. My mom turned the heat off and i seem to be the only one feeling this way. i might just be worrying myself sick. I tend to do that. But still should i be worrying this much or am i olay now that the heat is off? Im afraid to go back into my house.

There are Carbon Monoxide detectors available. You can get them from Lowe's or Home Depot. They are about the same price as a smoke detector.

Laundry smell going through air ducts?

I started noticing that the entire house smells like strong laundry detergent and a little exhaust whenever, I had the washer or dryer on. The smell is making me a little dizzy. After some investigation, I discovered the smell was coming from the air ducts that normally warm air would come of when the heater is turned on. I closed the ducts and some of the smell still get through. I also checked the exhaust pipe in the back of the dryer and made sure that it was connected as well. Is this smell normal? Also, are there any suggestions on how I can fix this problem?
Yes, I do have a gas dryer which was just installed a few days ago.

It sounds like you are referring to a natural gas dryer? Most gas companies offer free inspections of you appliances, or it would be wise to call an appliance dealer and ask for an inspection. Incomplete combustion of natural gas can cause carbon monoxide which can be deadly, and it can build up in your body. You should have this looked at before using it again. Also consider getting a CO detector. ACE hardware, Lowes and Home Depot all carry them.

Go out an immediately buy two (2) carbon monoxide detectors. One for the room where the furnace is located, and one in your bedroom. These detectors are as important to have as fire/smoke detectors. You can purchase these detectors at Home Depot or Lowes.

Get the one that plugs into an electrical outlet, but also has a battery backup.
